Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the process take?

Here’s a timeline for a typical session:

Book as soon as possible! Sessions fill quickly, you’re NEVER too early to book (I can keep a secret!)1-3 hours – the session itself
Up to 3 weeks after the session, you’ll receive your images!

Where will the session be?

You don’t need to clean your house or even get out of your sweats and you don’t need to feel awkward coming to my home. All newborn sessions are held in my cozy newborn studio located in historic North Hill in downtown Pensacola, FL.

Why is it so important to do newborn photos within the first week or two?

All newborns have a certain “look” to them. Usually within a week or two, that newborn-like quality starts to disappear. As your newborn becomes older, it becomes increasingly challenging to safely pose your newborn.

What do I need to do to prepare?

Stay relaxed! After booking, you will receive an email with tips and tricks on how to prepare. But, you don’t need to go out and get a thing! I have all the props and blankets at the studio!

Can other children be photographed with the baby?

Sure! While some parents choose to do this, I recommend you keep your expectations realistic 😉 This is a turbulent time for small siblings. After a few shots, Dad or Grandma can bring the kids down the street to the library (a favorite) or to one of the delicious bakeries or cafes that downtown Pensacola has to offer!

What should I wear to my maternity session?

Ultimately, what you wear depends on what you’re comfortable in. That said, I recommend clothing showcases your baby bump. Empire dresses belted under the bust and stretchy fabrics are two of my favorites. I’d avoid anything extremely loose.

When should I have my maternity photos taken?

I think some of the best maternity photos are taken between the seven and eight month mark. This is when you’re really showing, but you’re still feeling comfortable.  You can find information on our maternity sessions here:  Pensacola Maternity Photography Sessions
